AFFILIATE MARKETING / THE AFTER-WORK EDITION

A day job.
A side project.
And a lot of coffee.

I’m Ved. I’m building an affiliate project around work, family, and the hours that are actually left. This is where I share the steps, the tools, and the things I have to do twice.

For people with an idea, a laptop, and other stuff to do.

AML / WORK IN PROGRESS
One thing at a time.
Get the website online.
Give it a personality.
Build the email follow-up.
Make the first recommendation.
One useful page.
Then another.
Also: more coffee.
The plan is simple.
Finding the time is the sport.

VED / THE HUMAN BEHIND AML

THE HUMAN BEHIND THE TABS

Hi. I’m Ved.
Yes, there is a day job.

By day, I work in aquarium maintenance. Digital marketing, copywriting, and websites fill a fair bit of the time around it.
I live in Berlin, Germany, but I’m originally from Zagreb, Croatia.

Affiliate Marketer’s Life is my own project: a place to build, document the decisions, and turn useful experience into something another person can follow.

Some evenings, with my lovely ADHD multi-tabs opened in my head, the win is getting one page finished. I reckon that counts.

The “life” part of the page name is doing quite a lot of work here.

FROM THE WORKBENCH

The site itself
is part of the story.

Useful lessons start with a real decision. Here is the first one — including the bit I wanted to change.

FIELD NOTE 001 · OCTOBER 2026

The first homepage was fine.
That was the problem.

It was clean, clear, and completely forgettable. Here is why I changed it — and a quick test you can use on your own homepage.

YOUR TURN

Got a spare hour?
Give it a job.

Start with a project small enough to finish a useful piece of it tonight.

01

Pick a real question.

Who are you helping, and what are they trying to work out before they buy? Start there.

02

Make one useful page.

Explain the options. Be specific about the trade-offs. Help somebody reach a decision.

03

Give them a next step.

Recommend something relevant, make the link clear, and learn from what happens.

THE TOOLS ON THE BENCH

The stack is small.
The tab count isn’t.

WordPress and Blocksy for the site, hosted on Hostinger. Pretty Links for organising recommendations. Systeme.io is the next part of the email workflow to build.

Affiliate links: If you sign up or buy through the links above, I may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Your support helps keep this project going. I only recommend software I personally use and have tried in my own work.

A NOTE TO MYSELF

A new tool is not
a finished task.

Before adding anything else: what job does it do, and is that the job holding this project up?

*The coffee line is a joke. Ask an accountant.

BOOKS ON MY DESK

Less shelf decoration.
More ideas to try.

First on the AML reading list: Sell Like Crazy by Sabri Suby — buyers, offers, copywriting, and sales funnels. The author currently offers a printed copy with shipping and handling payable.

ONE SMALL, FINISHED THING

Your side project
won’t build itself.
Rude, but here we are.

Choose the audience. Find the question. Make the first page useful. The starter roadmap will walk you through it.
